I have a passion for decorating, shopping flea markets, garage sales, and crafting. I have browsed and "creeped" many blogs and discover that I have something to share. So after weeks of trying to decide how to get a blog started I am finally here. I'm still learning about the technololgy part (not my strong suit)but I hope to post many pictures of my house before and after, my antique booth, and my ideas on decorating and crafting. I believe everyone deserves to live in a beautiful space and not break the budget to get it!! Looking forward to your feedback, talk to you soon.

My House, The Kitchen

Hi Everyone, what ya doing??  It's too hot to do anything!!!  So I thought while sitting here in the A/C I would share my house and the improvements we made.
I love the Black granite counter tops.  My contractor tried to talk me out of them because he told me they were too dark. DuH!!! Absolute Black is going to be dark.  Besides what does he know.  :)  They go great with the white subway tile, clean and simple so my "stuff" can take presidence.  I repainted all the cabinets a taupe color and even put in some glass inserts on a few.  This is very inexpensive and makes a huge impact.

This is the ceiling in the kitchen and sitting area.  We torn down the wall dividing the two rooms and the ceiling of course was messed up.  Rather than just float it with drywall we wanted to do something different.  This is my feaux tin treatment.  It's wallpaper that we hung (I'll never do it again) and then I painted to look like tin.  It was a challenge but the results are amazing.

here is the other side of the kitchen.  The wall was where the pendent lights are hanging.  I don't know how anyone lived with it the way it was.  Now we have such an open area to cook, eat, hang out.

This is the entertainment unit that my husband made for me.  I think I'll keep him!!  All of the wood was salvaged except for the four posts.  We bought those for $10 each.  The baskets actually cost more at $20 each, than the whole project!!!

This is the sitting area that used to be closed off.  We spend all of our time in here.

This is the kitchen view from the sitting area.  Roxy would not look at the camera at all!!!

Here is the back wall of framed hankies.  I showed this picture on a previous posting but I like it, it makes me happy.

Hope you guys are staying cool, I hear it may cool off next week to high 90's, get my jacket!!!! :)
