I have a passion for decorating, shopping flea markets, garage sales, and crafting. I have browsed and "creeped" many blogs and discover that I have something to share. So after weeks of trying to decide how to get a blog started I am finally here. I'm still learning about the technololgy part (not my strong suit)but I hope to post many pictures of my house before and after, my antique booth, and my ideas on decorating and crafting. I believe everyone deserves to live in a beautiful space and not break the budget to get it!! Looking forward to your feedback, talk to you soon.

100 year old barn

Well here it is, the 100 year old barn right in the middle of the city!!  My husband fell in love at first sight.  (Happy Valentines Day by the way.)  It is all my fault actually.  First I bought him this fancy nail gun with compressor and 3 different kinds of shooters ??  for Christmas.  Well now he needs something to NAIL!!  He loves old distressed wood, we have that in common.  So just on a whim I placed an ad on Craigs list for an old barn !! I was amazed at the responses I received.  Mostly old storage sheds or detached garages though, not what we had in mind.  Until this reply came a couple of weeks ago with pictures. This barn is in Haltom City neighborhood surrounded by homes and is the last standing structure from the old Zell Farm.  The owner said that it was built in 1908 and she grew up across the street and used to see the owner park his model T in it.

Here are just alot of pictures I took during the demo to document the progress.  I was really helping too!! :)

Joe and Steve (Joe is not in a hole, he's just sitting on rafters, he has bruises on his hiney to prove it)

one wall down

other treasures (trash) I found inside.

Notice the 2 old tv's. Were they saving these to use later?? Why not throw this away!!

My job!!!

Love that big wall of wood!!

I worked so hard!!  oh and I'm keeping the grocery cart even though Joe said to throw it away. Tee Hee

King of the Mountain!! (Barn heep)

Demo began this weekend, just in time for winter to show up!! Temps were in the 20's and let me tell you it was COLD!!  Joe and our great friend Steve began banging away with crowbars, hammers and saws.  I mostly cleaned up and loaded the trailer with good pieces of lumber.  We got alot done in 2 days.  Probably will finish next weekend, thankfully we will have more help because I don't know if we can do another weekend of hard labor, there isn't enough Advil in the world!!!!
.  Sheesh!!

Until next time,
